# Medication Management

## Overview

Medication management at [CARMAhealth](../carmahealth.md) is an ongoing, collaborative process between the patient and a board-certified psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner. It begins after an initial [psychiatric evaluation](./psychiatric-evaluation.md): the practitioner recommends a medication based on diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment history, then monitors response, adjusts dosages, manages side effects, and refines treatment over time.
